H I *

Im Claira,

* I am a white and queer person who lives with an invisible disability and manages chronic pain.

I am a medical massage therapist and prefer the term bodyworker to describe my work. My studies of medical knowledge stems from a bachelors of science in biology from the University of Washington where I worked as a certified nursing assistant. I have continued my specialty by becoming a licensed massage therapist, with continued education around scar tissue integration, structural integration, manual lymphatic drainage, pain theory, and movement education.

I am constantly working on creating an environment of inclusivity and hold space for all individuals. I actively engage in creating an affirming space for queer, fat, disabled, and people of the global majority who are systematically mistreated by parts of our healthcare system.

It is my highest priorities to help people manage and live embodied with their complex health and to recover to a place of acceptance and understanding as they undergo emergency, elective, and affirming surgical procedures.

I am specializing my practice to work with people who experience persistent and chronic pain. My modalities are geared toward inflammation reduction, pain education, nervous system regulation, and fascial reintegration. I further specialize in post surgical pain management to offer supportive and selective care for people undergoing surgical procedures.

Your Body Works is a healing space for individuals experiencing unique disabilities, illnesses and chronic pain. I look forward to joining your team and helping you to find a sense of self in your body.
