Claira Young (they/she) is an interdisciplinary bodyworker with a focus on evidence based integrative care, chronic pain management, and post surgical soft tissue repair.

As a person who lives with chronic pain and has experienced their share of the medical system as a patient. They have a keen focus on how to navigate helping people manage the complexity of a chronic condition and supporting a person’s natural healing process through post surgical care. They address pain management and post surgical care through a bio-psycho-social perspective of wellbeing while absorbing professional discussions around pain philosophy and medical ethics. They have focused their technical education around scar tissue studies, the lymphatic system, body-based therapies for nervous system regulation, and fascial anatomy.

People and bodies do not live in a vacuum. Claira wants to help address the many aspects of one’s life that will play a part in how “well” a person feels in their body. Their work focuses on providing a comprehensive look at a person’s habits, beliefs around their pain, self care, health history, and goals for their health or recovery.

A Note From Claira

I believe your pain exists. In a health system where medical gaslighting of peoples pain and symptoms is common, I am here to say Your pain is real. your pain is valid, and there are resources, treatments, and education centers that can help with management.

A note on the economic exchange

As a health care provider we bill as an out of network provider and set prices according to the cost of living in the given area. We can help by providing a guide on how an individual can ask for medical reimbursements from their private health insurance. We also provide sliding scale pricing. Please reach out if finances are a burden. We are working on divesting from the non-equitable economic healthcare system. We set aside multiple reduced priced private sessions a month. We do not require an application process and go by an honor system.

With that, we have very intentionally created some offerings as freely given. The disabled community is constantly being exploited by the medical and wellness industrial system for basic rights and care. Accessing education around wellness and pain management needs to be more accessible. We are forever working on unlearning and relearning better ways to show up and support the community of sick people that can fall through the cracks of our healthcare system.
